Built on a foundation of wellness, inclusion, and community, the story of the Dartmouth Sportsplex is constantly evolving. As our Marketing, Communications, and Community Development Coordinator, Elizabeth O’Hanley is responsible for telling that story, as well as keeping our users up-to-date with what’s happening in the facility and building a strong Dartmouth Sportsplex community that encourages people to be active, be social, and live life to the fullest.

Originally from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Elizabeth quickly fell in love with Dartmouth’s community spirit while attending NSCC Ivany Campus. After obtaining a diploma in public relations, she began working as a marketer, digging her heels into everything social media, content marketing, and digital advertising. With a desire to align her community involvement with her career, Elizabeth couldn’t believe her luck when she was given the opportunity to join the Dartmouth Sportsplex team as the building prepared to re-open as a new, revitalized facility.

If you catch Elizabeth with her nose down, looking at her phone—don’t hesitate to grab her attention, as she’s probably just updating the Sportsplex’s social media pages or website to make sure everyone knows what’s going on inside the facility. Elizabeth often attends community events and meetings on behalf of the Sportsplex, and is always excited to meet new people and develop new partnerships to deliver even more exciting programs and services to Sportplex users.

In her spare time, Elizabeth volunteers with several organizations in Dartmouth and loves to meet new people on this side of the harbour. It’s not too often you’ll see Elizabeth outside of work without her dog, Gus (and sometimes, her husband Josh), as they love to explore the city and other parts of the province, trying new food and coffee at every stop along the way. If you see Elizabeth at the Sportsplex (or outside of the Sportsplex, too!) be sure to say hi and introduce yourself, and let her know how you’re enjoying your experience at the Sportsplex.
